We are lucky to have a large open forest area where the children have freedom to explore in a safe, educational and fun way. We teach respect for all living beings - including the trees and creatures that live there. Here the children learn to navigate over large tree roots, climb tree stumps and balance along fallen logs. They learn to cooperate to build forts and move large branches. They are able to sit quietly and simply breathe deeply. Our forest is always open to teach us about the wonders around us.
Mixed in with play, our children are immersed in literature, math and science. We explore monthly themes to help guide learning at their own level and support their natural curiosity to understand their world which builds confidence to transition into the school years. Our small group allows more individualized learning and one-on-one attention from dedicated teachers.
Each spring we plant our own vegetables. When children are able to be a part of the entire process, from preparing the soil, sowing the seeds, watering the plants and finally harvesting, children are eager to try new foods.
A summer's day at the beach, a trip of wonder to the aquarium, exploring nature at the ecology center, wet fun at the water park and exploring the big city. Adventures of all kinds keep our little ones connected to the bigger world.
Music & Movement
We have an ORFF music teacher every other Wednesday who uses songs, drums and dance to teach the children rhythm and notes. This is an educational introduction to music in a fun and energetic class.
Yoga
Our Yogi comes on alternating Wednesdays to teach positive body control, deep breathing, and fun poses from trees to warriors and even favourite animals. The children love finding new ways to move their bodies and calm their own thoughts.
